My top 11 Websites for Breastfeeding: A North London Doula’s Guide
Welcome to my new blog series “A North London Doula’s Guide”. In this series I’ve set out my favourite podcasts and websites to help you with your pregnancy, birth and postpartum life. Just like I do in my work as a North London based birth and postnatal doula and as an ante/postnatal educator!
The Best Breastfeeding Websites for New Mums
Breastfeeding can be a beautiful and rewarding experience, but it often comes with challenges, especially for new mums. Some common difficulties include sore nipples, low milk supply, latch issues, and concerns about whether the baby is getting enough milk. These challenges can be even greater if you have twins or multiples, a premature baby, or if your baby needs to stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
For parents of twins or multips, breastfeeding can feel overwhelming due to the need to establish a feeding routine that works for multiple babies at once. Premature babies may have difficulty latching or feeding effectively because their sucking reflexes are not fully developed. If your baby is in the NICU, you may need to express milk and navigate hospital policies on feeding.
Fortunately, there are many excellent resources available to support you through your breastfeeding journey. Here are some of my favourite websites that provide trusted, evidence-based information and support:
